The professors are incredible and care deeply about their students. The students are nice and friendly. BC is located close to Boston but still retains a beautiful Gothic-style campus with plenty of green space. The alumni network is awesome, and students have countless opportunities. I think Boston College does a fantastic job at giving the typical in the best way college experience. The gothic architecture and green grass, school pride, numerous clubs, and great classes all provide you with the one of the best movie-college experience.

However, the biggest downside about BC would be how old it is and not updating facilities. I thought I liked BC. Now Im a senior and I'm very jaded. Probably as a result of being more aware of different social injustices and where BC has failed to rise to the occasion. Too much undeserved entitlement too. I had more depth in my high school colleagues than in most BC students.

Now I'm seven years out and now live on the other side of the coast. The alumni network is strong. This pandemic serves as a moment of truth for me. No matter what year people graduated, the alumni community really help each other out! Hated BC at first but Im growing into it. Partying and lack of diversity is really annoying, but I guess thats at every higher education school.

Premed sucks but is getting a lot better, other programs great. Wonderful school with excellent faculty and good people if you can find them! Unfortunately, definitely homogenous, and administration is neither helpful nor open with students as much as they should be.

School lacks diversity. A lot of people that are preppy and coming from upper middle class. Also a ton of people that are legacies. School is very expensive, too. Very to go to a state school and pay significantly less money for the same education. I love it here, super close to Boston which I like anywhere you want to go is just a T stop away.

Average school, diverse student community, manageable coursework, and affordable tuition compared to other schools in Boston. It's a decent place to get your degree if you make the most out of it. The only thing I like about this campus is the food. The student center is nice as well.

All of my classes are currently online but I miss the trip to Dorchester. It has a lot of potential but there is extreme inconsistency between the professors. School is pretty average. The administration is an absolute disaster and so is the physical campus with the never ending construction. Classes are okay with a mix of professors. You can make your experience great if you really make an effort.

The school does push a hard political agenda so beware if that's not your thing. In Umass Boston it is overall a good school, they are a school for liberal arts so they aren't really focused on fun hands on electives. The campus is safe as they have their own police force and in terms of commutation they are good at emailing and letting you know what is going on within the community.

Social is bad bc commute and no dorms :. Campus is outside of the city and actually feels like a college campus because all the buildings and green spaces are closely knit. The old buildings are currently being updated and plan on looking great.

Most professors care and will help you succeed but you may get an ok one here and there. The opportunities are there if you are willing to reach.

It is in a bad area, but the school itself and surrounding area is well protected by police. In 4-years maybe like 3 emails about potential threats. Beautiful views - homework overlooking the water. Overall, I am really enjoying my time at BU. I was always scared to start college, but once I moved in, I felt right at home! My classes were wonderful, with interesting material and for the most part kind professors. However, the food is not very good and I got food poisoning from the maple chicken.

Other than that, I have enjoyed myself. Ads can be annoying, but they allow us to provide you this resource for free. If you use an ad blocker, we're not getting that revenue that helps keep RateMyProfessors.
