We continually took out a mirror to check on how things were looking in the back, and made minor tweaks here and there. The cut lasted 1 hour and she was never distracted. Now, my hair looks beautiful blown out and air-dried and I've gotten tons of compliments in just the past 24 hours. I am a ""bottle blonde"" have been getting my hair done usually full highlight for over 10 years.
My colorist moved and ever since no one ever gets my blonde color right - it either turns out to brassy or yellow or just does not go with my skin color, etc. So, this time I researched where I was going to get my hair done.
Well guess what? It came out awful. First of all, you can not understand her because of her accent and her assistant has to translate what she says But everyone in the salon reassured me that I should trust her and she was fabulous.
I already had blonde hair but didn't like the shade. She gave me attitude saying that it's impossible to get the root. And one side had streaks of this dark brown and the other side had barely any. The two sides of my hair looked completely different. I like my hair to look natural blonde I. And I ended up with super chunky highlights and dark low lights. Saying I can't believe you paid for that! I back to the salon for Kim to re-do my hair and told Kim that I didn't like the chunky streaks, i had roots, etc.
I was not rude or anything towards her and I even kept apologizing to her. I wish I could post a picture! I wanted to cry.
A colleague recommended L. It is my sincere pleasure to share my experiences at Laurentius Salon. I knew when I placed the call to schedule this appointment that this was going to be very positive. What I didn't know was HOW positive it would be! The woman who scheduled my appointment was extremely polite, efficient and very pleasant. When arrived I was warmly greeted, offered a glass of wine or other beverages and introduced to Kim.
Even though the salon was bustling, there was a obvious sense of calm and complete control, everyone was right on schedule and I was very pleased to actually have an appointment that was honored at the exact time that it was set for.
Kim is so sweet, she immediately made me feel extremely comfortable and it was evident that she is a true professional in her field. I knew instantly that I was in very good hands. As I sat there ""processing"" I watched the staff ALL so friendly move around like a finely tuned machine, everyone was in complete sync with each other and the flow was beyond impressive. After checking and rechecking my color Kim finally felt that it was complete. I couldn't have been happier!
During this visit I saw more beautiful cuts and colors walk out of Laurentius Salon then any other salon that I have been A few days after my inital visit I felt that I needed a haircut and made the decision right then and there that I would wait until I was back in Philadelphia to have Laurentius cut my hair. GOOD decision! Laurentius along with being an amazing artist is one of the MOST down to earth, sweetest and fun stylists I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Watching him cut hair mine specifically is like poetry.
He made it seem so effortless with the MOST awesome outcome. As with Kim, I couldn't have been happier, I love my hair! The entire staff, Joe, Ed and the rest of the team at L.
Even if I never had another reason to find myself in Philadelphia coming to this salon every three weeks is reason enough, I am NOW a confirmed ""Philly Girl"" not really solely because of Kim, Laurentius and the entire staff. Thanks to all of them for the BEST color, style and great time! See you every three weeks! I love Laurentius Salon!
I just moved here from NY a year ago, and I've been to at least 3 different salons in Philly, but never quite satisfied. I found out about Laurentius Salon from Allure magazine, so I decided to give it a try. Let me just say it was the best move I made! My colorist, Ani, is so amazing. She was able to make my dark brown hair into such a natural and healthy looking blonde, which i never thought was possible. And the salon itself is such a breath of fresh air compared to some other ones i've been to.
Very professional but friendly at the same time. And a glass of wine while waiting for the color to process is definitely a plus :. I am not one to leave reviews but, after following my colorist to a new salon, I felt I just had to. I have been getting my color done by Ani for years. I have truly never been disappointed. From the funky and wild colors of my mid 20's to the natural look I now prefer, she has alway delivered.
She is also very sweet and I always look forward to my visits with her. I was constantly upset with how my color looked until I saw someone's hair I really liked and asked them who did it. They of course told me about Ani and I have been happy ever since! The new salon she works at is truly a wonder. It's sleek, modern and immaculate! To be honest, I went to her despite of her old salon, which seemed a bit mismanaged. When I first arrived at the salon I was really amazed when the owner came over to me, introduced himself, and thanked me for my business!
If you are looking for somewhere cool to get your color done by an amazing colorist you should really check Ani out. I got a phone call recently informing me that my colorist of 5 years , Ani,has moved to this salon from another in the Rittenhouse area.
I must say I was annoyed and a little afraid but the thought of going to anyone else scared me more so I schlepped it over to Laurentius Salon. I can't tell you how happy I am that I made the switch! I didn't know how much I was missing out on! My color never looked so great! Plus, I was out of there in half the time it took at the other place.
