The sound of bombs going off has been reported by dozens of folks living near 35th Avenue and Union Hills since late October. Dozens of explosions reported throughout a west valley community since late October, this one near 35th ave and Union Hills was caught on camera two weeks ago. Over the weekend another went off near sunrise elementary. Phoenix bomb squad now investigating. Dhaliwal says over the weekend the sound that rolled through his home came from Sunrise Elementary School just down the street.
School officials promptly sent out an email to parents explaining evidence of an explosion was found by the Phoenix bomb squad just along the school's fence line.
Stam says she also heard the explosion near the school. She's since heard two others this week. Sanchez lives about two miles from the school where surveillance cameras captured one of these explosions along 35th Avenue and Muriel.
That incident was also caught on film. The origin of the light formation has since been endlessly analyzed and debated. Walton has written a number of books on the subject, and his story was turned into the film "Fire in the Sky. And while Phoenix officials remain stumped by the strange light explosion, FOX 10 has reached out to the public asking for assistance in explaining exactly what was caught on film.
